In a series of interviews of local Eastern Shore residents in 1992, Salisbury University students and teachers collected folk life material. For this project, Jennifer K. Brohawn collected home remedies from the Eastern Shore. She interviewed five residents and gathered a great deal of folk remedies such as using buttermilk to reduce freckles, using chewed tobacco to treat a bee sting, rusting a nail in an apple to get iron supplement, and many more.
